Welcome to HCC!
This post contains some helpful links with advice and guidance for starting college.
The first week of college is always a bit strange as you adjust to a new routine and settle into a new place with new people. Don't worry! Once you have done a full run through of your timetable (Blue Week then Yellow Week) you will have been to all the classes and met all of your teachers, so should start to feel more at home.
If you ever need pointing in the right direction or some help knowing when you have to be somewhere, don't be afraid to ask one of the older students - we've all been where you are now! Students with a white shirt and blue tie are prefects and will be around at break and lunch time to support you. They may even pop into your tutor groups to say hi and introduce themselves if they are one of your reading buddies.
Students in non-uniform are in Post 16 (Year 12 and 13) and will also be happy to answer any questions when you are out and about in college.

The Transition Website
This website has virtual tours of the college, bus timetables, introductions to the tutor team and information about SENCO department where you can get help and support in college.
Start Now Cornwall Transition Mission
The Start Now Cornwall website has a dedicated page for their Transition Mission from Primary to Secondary school. It features videos and advice from current students who have already made the change, as well as activities to do which can help you to prepare for college life.
The Start Now website itself is run by young people in Cornwall and focuses on wellbeing and mental health support - check out some of their general resources!
College Website
The college website has everything that you need to know about HCC all in one place. Under the 'Student' tab you can find study resources, information about clubs and activities, the Student Voice and much more! The 'Latest News' tab will keep you up-to-date about charity days, events and what's on in college. Under the 'Contact Us' tab is the staff directory where you can find who to contact about specific subjects and pastoral support.
