A bit about the charities

Children In Need

The official day for Children In Need is on the 19th, but we are holding our events a week early due to the Year 11 mock exams clashing with the date.

Next Friday will be the TV broadcast for the BBC fundraiser which draws millions of viewers every year and raises money for the charity.

They work to improve the lives of children from all sorts of backgrounds. This can take the form of accessibility equipment, mental health support, fun networking events...the list goes on. You only have to watch the show on Friday to hear a handful of stories from those supported by the charity.

More about their work can be found on their website: https://www.bbcchildreninneed.co.uk/

The Grand Appeal

The profits from our fundraising events will be split equally between Children In Need and The Grand Appeal. This is the Bristol Children's Hospital Charity which supports children and young people through their hospital treatment.

The charity provides life-saving equipment, family accommodation for relatives of the child, wellbeing support and many other invaluable services.

One of our Post 16 students wanted to make her contribution to this incredible cause. Clara received extensive treatment after her brain surgery at the hospital a couple of years ago and would now like to give back to the charity which is deeply personal to her.

We hope you look forward to getting involved in the events in aid of these fantastic causes!
